How To Have The Perfect Body (For Every Body)
News flash – the idea of the ‘perfect body’ is different for you, me and everyone else in the world. Added to which, views on the ideal body shape differ through cultures all around the world – AND keep changing with time.
Sure, there are current body trends promoted through celebrities and advertisements, but strong and happy seems to be the most popular theme throughout the majority of mainstream promotions. Whatever body shape that comes with.
This means the perfect body shape for most of us is… human shaped.
So how to have the perfect body?
Sorry to be blunt, but chances are we already do – and we just aren’t accepting it.
Which is a bit insulting to our fabulous body, if you think about it!
People who accept their bodies as they are immediately gain an extra dose of attractiveness, thanks to the confidence that comes from appreciation and gratitude for what we’ve got.
Okay but really, I want some tips!
First things first – if we’re human shaped, we’re already WINNING! So we need to give ourselves a cheer and celebratory dance for that.
Secondly – figure out what we’re being judgemental about with our body.
Is it our overall body shape? Skin condition? Hair? A body part? Fat content?
1. Are we comparing ourselves?
Then we ask the vital question :
Do I not like this because I’m comparing myself to someone else?
If we are comparing, then that’s a mindset thing – not a body thing.
So ditch comparing – we aren’t them, and were never meant to be!
They are just an inspiration for us to really achieve the fullest version of US in OUR life.
Don’t be misled!
2. Are we taking care of our body?
Chances are, if we’re not taking good care of our body we’re going to be more critical of ourselves. As mentioned, STRONG and HAPPY seem to be interwoven so aim for that balance and see how life improves.
Therefore, increase the care factor – even by just a little every day.
It’s our responsibility to take care of this amazing vessel, brush its teeth and clean it and look after it. Treat it like a beloved pet and make sure it’s happy. We’ll soon find that our mental happiness increases too.
When in doubt, serve yourself well and increase the self love and care.
3. Are we wearing the right fashion for us?
Trying to be something we’re not is always going to be frustrating, so it’s important to know we’re wearing the right fashion for our body. This can be any type of fashion, as long as we love it and feel comfortable and confident in it.
Wearing what we love makes us like our style.
However, this needs to come with judgement checks and acceptance too. Trying to force our body into clothing or styles that suit other bodies isn’t going to be very confidence boosting.
I love cute tiny flower patterns with baby doll frills but don’t feel it maximises my style, (subtle way of saying it doesn’t suit me at all!) So I focus on styles I love that I can really rock the socks off, and enjoy the baby doll fashion on my petite friends who can properly dazzle with little florals and girly dresses.
So love what you’ve got and flaunt it baby!
Personally I love to accentuate the parts that magazines tell me to hide.
My very broad wide shoulders I wear with wide neck and off shoulder tops which make them seem even wider.
I choose racerback tops to accentuate my T-shaped build so I look like an athletic amazonian warrior. I wear heels and vertical lines to create the illusion of being even taller.
If I was petite I’d wear things that make me seem doll sized and if I was super tall I’d wear heels and high hair.
That’s just my ‘rebel and own it’ style attitude; it’s up to each of us to find and rock our own.
As far as we know, this is it – our one moment and time to own our choices and decide how to live, think, act and experience life.
Perfection is an illusion, so lets use that to our advantage and create our own standards of perfection.
We’re already human, we’re already perfect; the rest are just details that we decided to like or not like.
Let go, be less self judgemental, open up to saying YES I take responsibility for this body.
Let yourself fall in love – with your own fabulous body!
