Ah, the Louboutin Paloma bag. For Louboutin ladies, this is the little LB Birkin of the Louboutin bag line.
Sleek, spiked and screaming with understated personality, my favourite option has to be the edgy fashion business babe Paloma in black calfskin with leopard print spiked sides.
For more straight laced business babes it’s also available sans animal print, in plain red and black with some unobtrusive studs at the sides – sexy and understated but screaming of dominant feminine boss-ness.
With an arm clutch and detachable strap that will probably never be used, it comes in four sizes- nano, small, medium and large- and a variety of patterns and colours, with my absolute favourite being the small iridescent scarabee Paloma of course. (Blatant love of all things iridescent!)
The small and medium are the most intriguing sizes, with small suiting petite women well (babes who suit a 23″ Birkin) and medium suiting taller or larger framed women (ladies who rock Loewe Amazona 36″).
I visited my local LB store and found they didn’t even stock the large paloma because the medium was big enough for the taste of most women here in Asia. While I was expecting the large to be a suitable proportion for my frame – I’m 5’8″ with broad shoulders and size UK14 curves (think of a curvy Amazonian woman)- I found that the medium unexpectedly looks perfect on me, leading me to wonder how big the large size must be? (According to Purse Blog it fits a 13″ macbook and is a great functional work bag.) So I could probably carry either medium or large comfortably.
Needless to say I’ll probably have a medium black leopard Paloma one day, but until then I’ll have to dance around my house like a maniac with my small (one size only, damnit) Paloma Scarabee which I didn’t even know existed until my Paloma alert came up on Vestiaire Collective. I fully intend to pretend I’m in the ballroom scene of Beauty and the Beast… though lets be honest – compared to the dazzling luminescence and fine design work of the Paloma Scarabee bag, I’m definitely the Beast. And I’m so okay with that. *romantic ballroom dancing scene music*
