I was a teen in Australia when my best friend first introduced me to the concept of instalment payments for fashion items. She had an eye for young, quality local brands and owning fewer carefully chosen items. We’d journey to the boutique store and pay down $50- cash a week on a $200- pair of meticulously hand-crafted trousers, collecting them at the end of the payment term. Having to wait and work towards the goal was pretty satisfying, I must admit. And those trousers did get a lot of compliments.
Reebonz offers instalment payment plans for authentic luxury designer items, reaching customers around the world.
Fast forward many years and it’s easy to throw big purchases on a card, at risk of seriously messing up cashflow and spending habits. So what if you’re an accessible luxury fashionista obsessed with a certain design and crave ownership without spending a big amount in one go?
Never fear, Reebonz is here!
(With more competitive shipping rates than some other luxury resellers too.)
With 4.5 million users, 100,00 items from over 500 luxury brands and shipping to over 20 countries, Singapore’s third largest e-commerce business Reebonz sure is doing things right.
As the largest luxury resale network in Asia-Pacific and now in USA, Canada and UK, Reebonz has expanded masterfully since its founding in early 2009 with operations in 8 countries (and growing) and a bullish view of the global and ASEAN luxury online resale industry, which are growing faster than anywhere else in the world. Reebonz has online stores and a powerfully fast app as well as physical stores and pop-ups in Singapore, Australia and Malaysia, and has released the first-ever Asia Luxury Index to track performance of the online luxury ecosystem.
Customer focused founder Daniel Lim has said Reebonz has also noticed a higher demand for niche and cult brands over past few years as younger consumers start their ‘luxury consumption journey’, so hopefully we’ll see some Fleet Ilya, Creepy Yeha, Catherine D’lish, E.L.F Zhou and others gracing Reebonz’s luxury shelves soon…
Guaranteed authenticity with backing from the Singapore government itself, which we know is STRICT.
Confidence in their authentication methods is so strong that Reebonz has a 100% buy-back /trade-in guarantee for pre-owned Reebonz items in either cash or store credits.
All products are closely examined by professional Reebonz Atelier teams before they are issued a Reebonz Atelier Authenticity Card and customers can look up the authentication process on the Reebonz website to find out more about the extensive process the Reebonz Atelier team goes through to guarantee the authenticity of all items.
In this article I’m going to answer a few Reebonz Q’s I wanted to know myself, such as :
- Can I use Reebonz in my country? (And Reebonz app?) YES
- What countries does Reebonz ship to? MOST
- Are Reebonz items guaranteed authentic? YES
Short answers above and more details below.
Tally ho, lets get answering Q’s and exploring the international brand of Reebonz luxury consignment resalers.
While I feel quite hypocritical promoting instalment plans on credit for items we definitely don’t need (but really, really want), I’ve started to notice more instalment options being offered on luxury resale sites and wanted to explore the topic.
Of course it makes the most sense to save up for the item and then buy it. But lets admit, many of us aren’t that responsible or organised just yet. Even if we do have the cash for the item, sometimes it just feels less painful to have it sitting in an allocated account that pays off a monthly credit card auto-pay, whittling away small amounts over 6 or 12 mths that can fit within a monthly budget with savings and spending allocated, keeping the designer item within your monthly splurge cash allocation per month.
But even if you’ve saved up for the designer piece and have the cash sitting there in wait of the perfect designer item popping up (see: Loewe Amazona obsession), you can choose the Reebonz instalment plan and have the money come out of your account monthly, instead of handing it over in one big chunk.
Reebonz offers installment plans in different countries, so check with your local Reebonz website customer care.
Installments can vary by country, from 6 or 12 to 24 months. Hong Kong currently has 6 and 12 month plans available with select credit cards, and Singapore offers 6, 12 and 24.
To apply for the instalment plan, choose ‘Instalment Payment Plan’ when checking out, decide on your term and then you’ll have to go in and pay in person at your local Reebonz office within 24 hours, or the item defaults back for sale.
*** CHECK!!! Installments can be made for single items within XXX dollars only, not multiple items.
Payment is processed over 1-3 days (working business days, not weekend) and goods are shipped and should arrive in around 4-10 working days, depending on your country.
Worldwide shipping and super efficient mobile app shopping mean you can buy anytime, anywhere – especially useful if you’ve set up an alert for a specific style.
Reebonz manages all this with 300 employees working on supply and customer care across offices in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Korea.
Alerts make it easier than ever to be notified of a unique Gucci Dionysus listing – (or in my case, suede Loewe Amazona.)
My trial purchase of a divine gunmetal grey Loewe Amazona bag (totally obsessed) was very easy indeed. As a luxe loving value hunting fashionista, I loved the markdown on the bag and unusual style. To test out the experience, I chose an instalment plan and completed the payment process.
I then received an email saying, “Your order is under reservation. To complete this transaction, kindly contact our Customer Care Hotline (3150-6576). If no response is received by 28 Nov 2017 23:59, your order will be cancelled automatically.”
So I gave them a buzz, cabbed down to the office and paid in person – the whole payment process took less then ten minutes and I was told my bag would arrive in just over 4 working days.
Overall, Reebonz seems speedy, smooth and conscientious about customer service. They’re easy to use and obviously obsessive perfectionists about consumer experience and user-friendliness.
Five stars and thumbs up and a recommendation from me. I’ll be back for more Loewe Amazona’s very soon.
